Elder Lawrence E. Holland was born in Annapolis Maryland and lived in Crownsville, Maryland during his early years. He matriculated to Bowie State College where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education in May 1981. He attended University of Family Bible, Baltimore MD and received a Master of Divinity in Clinical Pastoral Counseling, December 2012. Elder Holland retired May 2013 from the Department of Defense, after thirty-one years of service.
In 1986, he was joined in holy matrimony with Janice Weirs, the love of his life. This union was blessed with three beautiful children, Candice, Ashley, and Paul.
Elder Holland gave his life to Christ in May 1981 while a member at John Wesley United Methodist Church. He worked closely with his pastor, the late Reverend Richard Johnson during his early adulthood. In 1984 he became a member of Trinity Apostolic Faith Holiness Church under the late Bishop Lois Cleveland Grant. Elder Holland is a founding member of Blessed Trinity Church of Deliverance Inc. (formally, Blessed Trinity Apostolic Faith) faithfully serving under the late Dr. Ruby A. Prideaux until the Lord carried her home in August 2011. He worked in various ministry capacities in the church, including Youth Ministry, Music Minsitry, Sunday School Superintendent. He also was the Vice President of the Board of Trustees, as the senior Elder of the Church. He was licensed as a deacon in 1993. In May 1994, he accepted the call to the ministry and was licensed as a minister. He was ordained an elder in 1999 by Apostolic Faith Churches of God, Inc.
Elder Holland experienced Pastor Prideaux’s guidance during his many years as her spiritual son. She shared in every spiritual experience, and with the help of God, taught him how to be a true servant of the Most High God. Elder Holland has been called by the Lord to “carry” His word. To carry as one would carry a baby during a pregnancy and the “carried” Word would birth new life in others.
March 17, 2012, Elder Holland was installed as the second pastor of Blessed Trinity Church of Deliverance. Elder Holland has followed the vision and continues to move towards fulfilling the dream, taking the people of God on a journey of “Discovering God”. Through prayer, teaching, and fasting, he constantly challenges the people to form a more personal and intimate relationship with God. God has continued to add to the church those who will be saved.
